The Heart Behind The Stitch

Hi! My name is Alyssa James, and I’m the founder of The Blessed Stitch. 

This little business began with one meaningful, handmade birthday gift for a friend. I wanted to create something thoughtful, comforting, and rooted in faith, so I made a custom bunny with love and purpose. I never expected so many people to connect with it, but seeing how much interest it received inspired me to turn that one special gift into something much bigger.

My Catholic faith is a huge part of who I am and the heart behind everything I create. My goal is to offer beautiful, faith-inspired gifts that remind people they are loved, protected, and never alone.

I also want to be honest and thank everyone for being patient with me during this process. After receiving so much interest, I decided not to simply sell the original handmade bunny. Instead, I chose to take the time to create my own unique bunny brand from the ground up. I am working carefully to keep the soft, high-quality feel everyone loves while making the bunnies more affordable and accessible to as many people as possible.

Creating an original product takes time, especially when I want to make sure the design, materials, details, safety, and overall quality are exactly right. I am sorry that the process may take a little longer than originally expected, but I would rather take my time and create something truly special than rush and release something that does not meet the standards I have for The Blessed Stitch.

Outside of the business, I am a college student studying Health Sciences with the dream of becoming a NICU nurse. When I’m not studying or working on new designs, you can usually find me traveling and exploring new places! Caring for others has always been important to me, whether that means supporting families through nursing one day or creating a comforting gift that brings someone joy today.

Although The Blessed Stitch is beginning with bunnies, I hope to continue growing the business and eventually offer even more meaningful, handmade, and faith-inspired gifts. I am incredibly grateful for everyone’s support, patience, and excitement as I work to bring this vision to life.
